How can you tell if you have mold?
Having health issues and not sure what you can do?
American Mold Experts is certified in Inspection and Remediation for both Commercial & Residential properties. We can Inspection and Test your property. Take a look at these services:Inspection
We provide location assessment and inspection that includes examination of the property grounds, building exterior, crawl space, attic, and interiors. We assess the property for mold contamination and as important the cause of that contamination. Our reports will include steps to cure current problems and to prevent future problems. Contact us for an inspection fee quote.
Testing
If you request we can run a variety of tests to assess the level of contamination. Based on the problem and location we might use a tape test, swab or air sampling test. Each will help to determine the level of contamination, type of mold and varying counts by area. We compare this analysis against the outside counts to determine the saturation level affecting the interior. Each sample taken follows a chain of custody to the independent national lab. They provide us a full assessment report which you will receive a copy. The turn-a-round time for test results is typically three (3) business days.

Health Issues - After Remediation This Family is Healthy Again
For the past several months, my family had been sick with sinus and respiratory problems. Our six year old daughter had ear and sinus infections repeatedly. Everyone was on
one antibiotic after another and all 3 of us had been to see an ENT Specialist. Our new puppy even had runny draining eyes. Putting all those things together, I felt there was a possibility we were all being exposed to something that was making us sick. I found American Mold Experts via the internet. I called late on a Saturday afternoon and I was surprised when someone actually answered the phone. I explained our situation and American Mold Experts was at our house on Monday evening (which was the time that was convenient for us).
During the inspection, American Mold Expert’s found slight mold in the basement on an upstairs floor joist. For just a few hundred dollars we could have an air sample done to validate the quality of our air within the home. We felt it was a small price to pay for peace of mind… More

Are YOU having chronic health issues? THEN Unlock the Mystery
We visit so many homes and always ask the question, “IS ANYONE IN THE HOUSEHOLD EXPERIENCING HEALTH ISSUES?” We get two (2) commons responses. Either “how did you know?” or we get the answer “NO” but later, after having some time to think about it, they then start to associate some nagging cough or allergy symptom with possible mold contamination in their home.
Air sampling is the key to unlocking the mystery. Our air sampling starts at just $250 so give us a call today at 317-837-6665 or Toll Free at 877-877-9744 with any questions you may have. Visit the website to read about our natural enzyme when it comes to destroying mold!

Prevent Mold Growth With These Tips
American Mold Experts is certified in Residential & Commercial Inspection and Remeditation and want to make sure when it comes to keeping you and your family safe you have some great tips, here is some vital information on keeping your your Summer Home, New Home or Existing Home safe.
Maintenance List
There are many things on the maintenance list and given the damp weather this year; many homeowners are reporting mold related issues. Plus, with the high pollen count and allergens, we are also hearing more about bouts of wheezing and sneezing.
Tips for a Safe Home:
To have an eco-healthy home, we want to provide a few tips for you so that you can ensure a wonderful summer season in your home.
Preventing Mold Growth
•Site Survey: Make sure draining gutters and downspouts point away from the foundation, and ensure that automatic lawn sprinklers do not point toward building walls.
•Check Exterior Siding & Bricks: if there are any cracks wider than 1/16 inch, seal them with clear silicone to prevent water from entering your home during the winter. Protect your home exterior by fixing cracks during warm months.
•Laundry Rooms: Any moisture generating appliances, such as washers and dryers should be vented to the outside.
•Bathrooms: Install a fan in the bathroom to allow venting and ensure that you use a nylon shower curtain (instead of vinyl).
•HVAC: Change your filter at the start of summer season and on a regular schedule. Inspect interior duct linings for signs of moisture or mold growth. Keep drip pans clean and unobstructed.
•Kitchen: Review your under appliance drip pan to remove excess water. And clean to discourage mold growth.
•Basement: Fix any issues with standing water and use a dehumidifier if necessary. Use non-porous carpeting. And ensure that you use paperless drywall during a finished basement renovation.
•Dehumidifiers: make sure that your dehumidifier pumps to the outside or change the storage tank daily.
•Purchase several Humidity Meters. These can be inexpensive ($8 at Wal*Mart in the same department as temperature thermometers). Place throughout the house and monitor. The readings should be less than 60% to prevent mold. Even without a leak mold spores can extract moisture from the air to grow and multiply.

Honest Business Practices with American Mold Experts
Hear from the people that have called us for quotes and/or remediation in their homes, here is one:
We had received a quote from another contractor to remediate what we believed was mold in our basement. We asked American to also give us a quote. American tested the suspected area first and was able to confirm it was not mold but dirt. We were very happy that their first goal was to identify the problem rather then just sell us the services.

The Link Between Black Mold And Pregnancy
11 Mar 2010 Posted by:birthuse in: Baby Health
Humans and mold have lived together since the very beginning, but mold has become a big health issue only recently. So many cases of toxic mold poisoning have come to light recently that people can’t help but be concerned. Because this concern is so new, we have only just begun studying the effects of black mold and pregnancy. There isn’t much real evidence, but doctors are very concerned about how exposure to black mold during pregnancy can affect babies.
Black Mold and Birth Defects
There are countless stories of women being exposed to mold during pregnancy and suffering miscarriage or birth defects. However, there is not yet any solid hard scientific evidence that exposure to mold directly causes birth defects. Studies with animals have shown that there is a definite link between black mold and pregnancy, but animals are different than humans, so the results are somewhat inconclusive. Still, most doctors assume that there is some connection, and that pregnant women should be careful about exposure. More....
